Yes, it has been a couple months since I've posted. That is on me. You may or may not know I run another website or 10. My main income is from astrology. As I have focused a bit more attention on the astrology side of my business, my art has suffered. Not that I haven't painted, I have, and that's why I'm writing. I wanted to share my latest art with you. It is something I have been doing without any forethought. I just pick up my pad when I feel the need to be creative. The easiest way to express artistically is watercolor pencils. I can color, with minimal mess and fuss, then use my watercolor brush to bring the watercolors to life. I use Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. I LOVE them!

I usually like to draw animals in a cartoony, whimsical style. So the art I've created this month is a collection of animals. I recently have been adopted by a cute new kitty named Valentine. She is a football with legs. So inspired the plump kitty. These amount to fancy doodles, but I made them into greeting cards.

I see shapes in different places. The Horsey illustration was found in a cabinet I have, in the painting surface on it. I saw the horse head and needed to get it down. This horse merchandise can be purchased online. As I have been focused on building my art business, I am finding more ways to promote it.

Instagram is a great place to promote art, or any business for that matter. (not sponsored). I have an account, or three there. If you are looking to build your art business, affiliation and social media are two ways I would get my feet wet. Type in "affiliate" into any site you would like to connect to your website.

Connecting on Instagram is my favorite way to connect to patrons currently. I am really inspired by all the other artists there. Some of my favorites are Robin Sealark, Frannerd, and Wonderforest.

I use a water brush. It is a plastic handled brush you fill with water, so handy. I need more, I would like a larger one, too. I use Prang watercolors. Watercolors can vary. Cheap ones usually have faint pigments, and aren't really saturated to use, while the more expensive you get, the better the pigments. Prang is a fairly reasonably priced set. If you are like me, you collect them.

I will talk with you again, soon. Still trying to get back to my every Monday blog schedule! Have a great summer y'all!
