My name is Shelley Overton. I am an artist in Orlando, Florida. dottedsky.com is one of my web babies. On dottedsky.com you will find products featuring my bright, whimsical designs. The name came from my love of polka dots. The site started out as "aPolkaDotSky.com". This wan't the site I had wanted, I wanted PolkaDotSky.com, but it was taken. I lived with the awkward name for a few years, but this year I decided it was time to make it something I liked, hence dottedsky.

My art has been a part of my life since I can remember, around 7 years old. I do remember a little bit longer, but that was when I was in a stroller. I remember drawing a pirhana fish, and realizing it looked like the fish, and got great acclaim for it. Strange subject, but it was an "aha moment". As time went on, I went to school for commercial art, was a graphic designer, called a "desktop publisher" back then, and eventually went back to college. In my late 20s I got a degree in Communications. That gave me the tools I needed to do marketing, which I did. I got married in my early 30s, and had two children. We moved from Denver, to Knoxville, and landed in Orlando. I started doing murals in Knoxville, and continued in Orlando. I needed more, though, so I started an online business where I could share my designs with others, and bring a little happiness to the everyday world.
