Mercury entered Scorpio at 4:14 AM Eastern time on Thursday October 3rd, less than an hour and a half before, Pluto had gone direct. Half a day later, Mars went into Libra. Over the course of the month of October, we have seen a tremendous amount of information being spilled forth. Of course, this relates to politics. Politics are a heightened focus for the world, currently, with oil tanker assaults arising in the middle east,leadership issues in England, Ukraine, Russia, America, China, And Hong Kong. Other planets will have say in the world, and world political stage, but Mercury dictates how we communicate those issues, where our thoughts are with regard to those issues. The sign of Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto. Pluto is currently in Capricorn, and that makes him particularly focused on structures, systems, and ideas that have been dogmatically embedded in society. When Mercury entered Scorpio, here immediately answered to Pluto. The two planets are in a positive aspect, 60°, apart. This means they are in cooperation. That is as long as they both are moving forward. Mercury stretcher grade on October 31st at 11:41 AM. Yes, Halloween. He moves retrograde just after the Moon goes void of course, a state in which things do not come to fruition. What does all this mean? It means that the energy of Mercury is influenced by the movement of other planets whose orbits have shifted, close to Mercury retrograding.
Mercury shadow-in-begins October 11 at 6:50 PM Eastern time. This is the beginning of the time we will notice what issues we will deal with during the Mercury retrograde, and the shadow period afterwards. While this is being written on October 18th, we have had a week of revelations in politics. It seems that a lot of cohorts of Donald Trump have decided to reveal their hands1, and are acting as if it is just standard business practices. The other side of the story is that the information revealed basically validates all of the illegal activity they've been accused of. It’s as if they have lost their senses of right and wrong, and cannot see that what they say is implicating them in crimes. As Mercury goes retrograde, a couple different things can happen. Information that has come out will be backpedaled, and there will be hiding of other information. When Mercury is in the last degrees, around 20 to 29° of Scorpio, especially if there are late degree Leo planets, we have a fraudulent aspect. This means that fraudulent information appears. To clarify, people act fraudulently.
In the case of Donald Trump, he has Mars in his Natal chart at 28° of Leo. This is going to be an extremely revealing transit for Trump's chart. During the initial shadow period, we will see information come out, like I said, And as the retrograde hits there will be an attempt to go backwards, to pretend that what was out is not out, and use words, or the media to massage what was revealed. The media it is ruled by Mercury, so the media will also come under scrutiny. Words, ideas, communications, technology, short distance transportation, accidents, teachers and small animals, Reptiles, weather patterns, all of these things fall under Mercury’s control. With everything that comes out during this Mercury retrograde, November 21st’s Mercury shift to direct will be a final rectification of those stories.
Mercury in Scorpio has a particularly concentrated energy and values, and money. It is good to know that money plays a part in this particular retrograde. With Scorpio energy, we are urged to understand what is valuable about ourselves as a relates to others. It is an ideological shift of understanding. Scorpio brings out is it hidden, that which is hidden from ourselves, that which is hidden from other people, and more specifically that which is hidden psychologically. With the opposite sign of Taurus housing Uranus’ influence on money, we have a subtle coloring of what is important in our values. Taurus is an early sign of the zodiac, it falls directly after Aries. Taurus will manifest the drive Aries influences, and to make our interactions with money much more egoic. Scorpio is an energy that takes others into account when it comes to money. On its dark side, it hides money from others, on its lights inside it will expose money, and financial secrets. Secrets being the key word here. Scorpio is highly secretive, partly due to a pathological sense of being exposed for their own dark side. Whenever Scorpio is triggered, we will always see psychological aspects to its influences.
During this Mercury retrograde, the usual expectations are fulfilled: technological upheaval, frustrations, miscommunications. Pay particular attention to void over the course of moons, late degree moons that dictate things will not go as planned. I suppose you can just assume that for the next six weeks things will not go as planned.
Of course, it will be explosive, as trumps Mars is in direct conflict with this particular Mercury. Mars in Leo indicates a strong taste for the dramatic, for being the center of attention, and bravado. It almost seems redundant to express this. His Gemini planets predispose him to be creative with wordplay, so to speak. Uranus in Gemini, Son in late degrees Gemini means that he also has a negative aspect of 150° to his Sun during this Mercury retrograde. He will feel attacked, but what is new?
But getting back to our Mercury retrograde, Mercury is 1° away from Venus when he retrogrades, so there will be a pulling back from women, and desires, rethinking our desires, and symbolically pulling back from the emotions that are triggered by women, including romantic partners, sisters and mothers.
As Mercury goes direct, the Sun sits at the degree Mercury retrograded at, 28°. This means we have a connection to the ending of the story around Scorpio. We are connected to what Mercury has had to go through, our sense of self, personhood, egos become aware of a greater emotional, and psychological picture. This could end in a deep shift of identity, or life. The truth will be clarified in December, on December 7 when Mercury gets back to 28°. Interestingly, this is only four days after Jupiter goes into Capricorn. Jupiter will express out exactly the energy that has been restricted, including words, and lay them clearly on the table for the world to see.
By the time Mercury finally ends the retro grade shadow period, December 7, 2019, four planets will be in Capricorn, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and Pluto. The country will be on the precipice of a very significant shift, with America's Sun being in Cancer, opposite transiting Pluto, close to America's natal Pluto position. America's natal Mercury is trining to this Mercury retrograde, forcing Americans to look at the emotional side of how they see America as a home. It will trigger the values that we share or disagree with, a deeper understanding, and review of what those are. But one thing is certain, we will never be the same.
