With Mercury retrograde opposing Jupiter, et al, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and a book release, I (amazingly) managed to overlook a large event in astrology... Neptune went direct in motion. On November 24th at 8:08 pm, the water planet moved direct from his 7 month retrograde. It has been quite a summer, with all the retrogrades on cusps. This was a summer of finding ourselves drawn to making changes, then come to find that what we felt we had left behind comes back. This, in fact, was not the case with Neptune. Neptune is in the middle of his trip through his native sign of Pisces. We are embedding the sentimentality of time. Neptune immerses us in the past, in vintage. We see a resurrection of old ideas, old ideologies, and want to dive into the emotionalism we left behind years ago.
We sentimentalize that which wasn't necessarily as good as we are remembering. I had that happen recently. I realized with the Neptune retrograde, which can snap us out of our delusional stupor, that the idea of where I was didn't stick, and it changed vibration to something quite different. My reality didn't match my friend's sentiments. That was an "aha moment". But Neptune can give us those. He is the planet of Universal Love. He wants all to be well, all of us to get along, and the world to live in harmony. As he is approaching the midpoint of 15°, he is showing us the thread of the past to the present, one of his talents. So expect that others you left in the past come back to engage your memories.
Neptune, God of Oceans, is ruler of water. When planets shift from direct to retrograde, and back again, we snap to attention. Our attentions go to water, or in this case, snow. With our friend Mercury retrograde now, in square aspect (90°) to Neptune, accidents abound. Of course they do with a Mercury retrograde, but this is particularly potent, as Mercury (ruler of transportation) is in Sagittarius, the sign of long distance travel. So you may see what I'm getting at here, flights cancelled, delayed, etc. Stress of this particular Mercury retrograde over the Thanksgiving holiday completely snarled travel for many, many people. To add to the upset, Saturn in Capricorn, and Pluto in Capricorn add chilliness to the mix. They were triggered when Neptune went direct. While in positive aspect to Neptune, they can lend a coziness to the whole issue. People stranded can make new connections they wouldn't have made otherwise.
Now that Neptune is back direct, he is focusing us back on his water energy. We are under his dreamy spell, and we may not have as much motivation throughout the month of December, as Mars, planet of action, is also transiting through Pisces. Look to have heightened awareness of others, sentimentality, and exhaustion. Neptune's realm is that of water, but it is parlayed into intuition our personal lives, also, through sleep and dreams. Water can connect us to others emotionally. Look to having your precision challenged, as Neptune loves being in the NOW, memories, verbal acuity, and the ability to draw on words is weak.Neptune wants us to use our intuition. Once we let go of details (realm of his opposite mate Virgo's Mercury), we can find answers at our fingertips.
Finally, the area of arts is triggered, for the better. We are immersed in sound, visual beauty and creativity. This is a wonderful time to explore our creative sides. What we create now has the power of Saturn running with it, to make it real, tangible, and long-lasting. With Pluto in sextile, these are life-changing ideas.
